For one amazing weekend the Travellers' Tales Festival brings together
a global gathering of the world's greatest travel writers and photographers,
to celebrate their craft and celebrate the world.

For three days they are joined by other great travellers – film-makers, foreign correspondents, novelists and explorers – to share journeys, experiences, insights and inspirations.

We invite you to join this very special community and –

  • MEET the heroes of travel writing and travel photography.
  • BE INSPIRED by stunning images and thrilling stories.
  • EXPLORE the world with its most experienced travellers.
  • LEARN to create better pictures and stories yourself.
  • SHARE your travel passion with a select group of kindred spirits.

So join us and enjoy a weekend about the world, like no other on earth.

"A really enjoyable, stimulating, warm and welcoming weekend. Both days were packed with exciting options and lovely, friendly people. I learnt a heck of a lot and relished the chance to spend time with such passionate and inspirational people"  – Festival visitor
A GLOBAL GATHERING

Travellers’ Tales Festival is a unique gathering of international talent
and energy, drawing speakers and visitors from around the world.

It offers you exclusive access to lectures by the world's greatest names,
to stunning exhibitions of travel photography, to discussions with a festival full of fellow spirits, and to the historic home of British exploration.

PLUS – for dedicated travellers, there are insiders' debates on exciting regions of the world, travel films, talks by new writers and photographers, and book signings with favourite authors.

PLUS – for aspiring travel writers and photographers, there are workshops with outstanding professionals, a chance to meet the editors, one-to-one advice sessions, and presentations on creative issues by leading agencies.

And for everyone, there is our elegant setting – the Edwardian home of the Royal Geographical Society, redolent of the heroic age of Scott, Shackleton and Livingstone – which is not normally open to the public.
